Neon Red from Nature

Jequirity (Abrus precatorius) or what we Ilocanos call bugbugayyong is a naturally bright red and black seed that was used as prayer beads or charm for babies (I have not seen them worn as such, though. The seeds are tough, maybe, they are boiled like the ipil seeds prior to putting a hole in them for beading).
This has a natural neon red color (if there is such thing as neon red!) that makes it stand out. It is a weed vine but its leaves and as a whole is quite decorative. The leaves of bugbugayyong is said to be medicinal: simmer in boiled water and use as bath for sensitive skin (according to an elderly neighbor. I will still try them, yes, I've got problematic, transparent skin).
The seeds are often used in local festival arts and exhibit.
